About our Club The River Falls Swim Club is a non-profit, member-supported club providing educational, recreational, and competitive swimming opportunities for school-aged children. Our coaches are experienced, USA Swimming-certified, and enthusiastic about getting kids excited to swim. How to Join RFSC offers three sessions per year, each lasting 11-12 weeks. To join RFSC, sign up at the designated Reistration nights where the Coaching Staff and RFSC Board members are available to meet you and answer your questions. RFSC Swim Sessions RFSC offers three 11-12 week sessions per year: Fall Session............September through early December Winter Session........early December through early March Summer Session......mid-May through July  Come on in, the water's great! |
Team Structure The RFSC program is separated into training groups providing individualized training for competitive swimmers six years of age and older who have been recommended for placement by a coach during the Registration process (see New Swimmers). Each group is designed to benefit swimmers who are grouped together by age, ability, competitive experience level, and training commitment. The frequency, duration, training level, and intensity of practices define each group. Swimmer Advancement Criteria Placement and advancement of each swimmer is based on the age and ability of the individual swimmer and is the responsibility of the Coaching Staff. The Coaching Staff moves swimmers through the groups based on commitment, consistency in practice effort, technique, attitude, and attendance when it is in the best interest of a swimmer. Session Fees The RFSC session fees are established by the Board of Directors for the upcoming swimming season. Fall session fees are $185, and are calculated based on the coaches’ salaries, insurance, pool rental and janitorial service, and the number of swimmers anticipated. (Meet fees excluded--please see swim meets page.) There is a 10% “multiple swimmer discount” available for each additional swimmer per family. The USA/MSI (Minnesota Swimming Inc.) membership fee of $51 is an annual fee required of all swimmers (no multiple swimmer discounts). Included in the USA/MSI membership is insurance covering a swimmer at practices, meets and club functions; access to a swimmer’s sanctioned meet results online via your USA Swim account; and a subscription to the bi-monthly USA Swim magazine “SPLASH”. Yearly membership is for a calendar year (January – December); however, memberships processed on or after September 1 are valid through December of the following year. New Swimmers A new swimmer (or a returning swimmer who did not swim in the previous session) must attend at registration for evaluation and group placement in the group most suited to the swimmer’s age and ability. We offer a "new swimmer" two week trial period for a non-refundable fee of $40.00 at the beginning of the swim sessions. This trial period is only available for swimmers who have never been in the RFSC. Late Fees A $25.00 late fee will be applied to swimmers who register after the designated Registration date for each session. To avoid a late fee, all registration forms must be completed and all fees paid by the designated registration date. Refund Policy Up to 50% of the unused portion of the registration fee may be refunded, if requested within the first two weeks of a session. Alternatively, the unused portion, less a $25 administration fee, may be credited to future sessiapparel, or accessories. |
